-> Laboratory of Clinical Electrophysiology
Electrophysiologic testing, in addition to examination, are used to diagnose several neurologic illnesses. Electroencephalography (EEG), electromyography (EMG), evoked potentials (EP), and polysomnography are some of the tests available (sleep and sleep related respiration, movement recording). These tests are not just a collection of laboratory tests, but also an extension of the neurology consultation.
-> EEG
Brain waves are recorded using electrodes put on the scalp. Mostly used for epilepsy suspicion and illness monitoring. However, it is advised in a variety of scenarios that induce functional loss in brain cells and inhibit brain waves (amnestic disorders, encephalitis, various systemic diseases and unconsciousness due to medications etc.).
-> EMG
Used to assess the functioning of the central nervous system (brain, spinal cord) and the peripheral nervous system. The location, nature, and duration of the issue in the aforementioned areas are attempted to be learned via EMG.
-> Polysomnogrphy
It is a test that records sleep, breathing, and arm and leg movements throughout the night. This test is most typically used to detect sleep-apnea syndrome, sleep-related movement abnormalities, and sleep-related disorders.
-> Laboratory of Neuropsychology
Neuro-psychological tests are used to determine whether there is a real memorial or other disruptions in mental function or weakness of the individual's complaints, in other words, to determine whether the event is caused by a disturbance in brain function or by emotional distress.
These tests also give hints in the detection of mental functioning abnormalities; the form of sickness it is by investigating its type (disease diagnosis) and prognosis of the condition (how it will be resulted).
-> Unit for Cognitive Rehabilitation
Our unit employs necessary rehabilitative approaches.
Commonly used to treat speech difficulties (aphasia) caused by strokes or head injuries, as well as to treat attention and memorial issues cognitive impairments caused by head trauma.
Correction of mental illnesses occurs following neurologic mental disorders that result in mental functioning problems (Multiple sclerosis, encephalitis etc.).
