Orthopedics and Traumatology

Prof. Dr. Hasan Hilmi Muratlı

•    Pediatric orthopedics: developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH), congenital hip dislocation, spina bifida, cerebral palsy (CP), foot, knee and hip deformities in children.  

•    Adult orthopedics: hip and knee arthroplasty (including robotic hip/knee replacements), anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction, meniscus and cartilage surgeries, sports injuries.  

•    Transitional care: managing congenital pediatric hip disorders through to adulthood (e.g., patients of childhood hip pathology now requiring adult arthroplasty).  

•    Training and education: founding and leading an orthopedics & traumatology training clinic; supervising research/teaching.

•    MD, Ankara University Faculty of Medicine – graduated 1992.  

•    Specialist in Orthopedics & Traumatology – completed 1997.  

•    Observer Fellow, University of Pittsburgh (USA) — knee/shoulder surgery focus, 2002-2003.  

•    Associate Professor (Doçent) title – 2006.  

•    Professor (Profesör) title – 2013.  



Academic Appointments:

•    2010-2013: Founded the Orthopedics & Traumatology Training Clinic at Fatih Sultan Mehmet Training and Research Hospital (Istanbul) – served as Clinic Chief and Training/Administrative Lead.  

•    2013-2017: Faculty Member, Trakya University Faculty of Medicine – Department of Orthopedics & Traumatology.  

•    June 2017 – present: Faculty Member, Marmara University Faculty of Medicine & Marmara University Pendik Training and Research Hospital.  

•    Since 2018: President of the Çocuk Ortopedisi Derneği (Turkish Pediatric Orthopedics Association).  

•    Member of the European Paediatric Orthopaedic Society (EPOS).
